Tell us about your role at MA Ponsonby…
My role is just about everything I can be changing a tyre at 4am or repairing lights organising the work, driving a truck, loading trailers, dealing with customers - every day is different!
My Job is my hobby.
I love trucks I was brought up in the cab of a truck from 6 months old travelling with my dad, my grandad and my uncle.
Trucks are my life I have diesel running through my veins
And what’s your favourite thing about working at MA Ponsonby? Or the best thing you have learned over the years?
I suppose seeing my 3 boys coming into the business would my favourite thing - they all have a passion for the business and are extremely skilled in their roles.
My second favourite thing would be buying new equipment v8 Scanias, lowloaders and flat trailers to move heavy machinery - I love it!
The best thing I have learned is mechanical knowledge - I’ve always been very mechanically minded but I made a decision 10 years ago to do all my own maintenance in-house.
I now have a drive through state of the art workshop of which I love to spend time in.

The best thing about working for M A Ponsonby is that it is my Dad’s Business and it feels great that I know I am playing a part in it.
What is the best thing you have learned over the years?
During my time here I have learnt a lot and continue to learn new things every day.
In Sept 2021 it was a big change for me to come into the transport industry after working 5 years in Children’s Service, but it is the best move I ever made.

My role at M A Ponsonby is varied and ranges from working in the workshop or out on the road in my service van, supporting with any breakdowns or tyre changes on roadside

I have a real passion for the business and love Trucks. I have always had a real strong interest in this industry and spend all my childhood and free time at the yard, working hard with my Dad!

I am the M A Ponsonby Yard Foreman who makes sure that the gates are locked every night when everyone is home. I do Yard inspections daily to allow Mike to keep track of Trailers in the yard, as well as fetching parts locally.
